Magnifying Glass
I made this magnifying glass as part of a class assignment designed to teach
proficiency on lathe and milling machines. The ring and nut are made of brass
and joined with a silver braze. The handle is delrin turned on the lathe and
threaded at one end to mate with the brass nut of the ring. The lens is
acrylic turned on the lathe into a convex shape for magnification then buffed to
be transparent. The lens is held in place with a spring ring that snaps into a
a groove on the brass ring.
